About Us

What Is AMCAP? The Association of Mormon Counselors and Psychotherapist, is a nonprofit international organization, founded in 1975, whose members recognize the centrality of religion in the human experience and share adherence to the principles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in their professional and private lives. You can learn more about the international organization at ldsamcap.org.

AMCAP-Oregon was formed in 2009 by a small group LDS counselors who met for networking and consultation. It is now a formal organization. Like the national organization, our chapter promotes spiritual and professional excellence consistent with gospel principles. The Oregon chapter of AMCAP provides educational workshops on a variety of mental health topics for the LDS community as well as a listing of LDS Mental Health Professionals in the Portland and outlying areas.
